Nonlinear structural performance and seismic fragility of corroded reinforced concrete structures: modelling guidelines

چکیده

The current paper provides modelling guidelines for nonlinear analysis and fragility assessment of corrosion-damaged reinforced concrete (RC) structures. A systematic guideline is proposed to model the adverse impact corrosion on mechanical properties steel materials including negative inelastic buckling low-cycle fatigue (LCF) degradation reinforcing bars. fibre-based technique capable simulating spatial variability localised influence damage states (DS). Corrosion-dependent pushover cyclic analyses, incremental dynamic analyses (IDAs) are carried out three different case studies: (i) a cantilever square RC column, (ii) circular column (iii) frame. results indicate that significantly affects DS, sequence failure mode, flexural capacity energy dissipation Moreover, alongside corrosion, geometry components also their sequence, behaviour capacity. It shown increasing degree penetration in concentration mainly confined concrete.

Simulation of Nonlinear Seismic Response of Reinforced Concrete Structural Walls

In this study the performance of three macro-models in predicting the nonlinear response of different walls is investigated. The macro-models used are: Equivalent Beam Model, Multiple Vertical Line Element Model and a shear panel model developed by Massone et al. (2006). The walls are classified as slender, intermediate, and squat walls according to their shear-span ratio. First, three single w...

The Effect of Axial Force Variations on Nonlinear Modeling and Seismic Response of Reinforced Concrete Structures

In order to increase the accuracy of evaluating seismic response of structures, it is critical to conduct dynamic analyses based upon precise nonlinear models being as consistent as possible with the real conditions of corresponding structures. The concentrated plasticity model including one elastic element and two nonlinear spring elements at both ends has been considered within the research c...

Modelling the loss of steel-concrete bonds in corroded reinforced concrete beams

The existing stochastic models for deterioration of reinforced concrete structures is extended by adding modelling of “loss of bond” due to corrosion between the reinforcement bars and the surrounding concrete.

Probabilistic Seismic Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Structural Components and Systems

An accurate evaluation of the structural performance of reinforced concrete structural systems under seismic loading requires a probabilistic approach due to uncertainties in structural properties and the ground motion (referred to as basic uncertainties). The objective of this study is to identify and rank significant sources of basic uncertainties and structural components with respect to the...

Seismic Performance of Steel Plate-Reinforced Concrete Composite Shear Wall

In tall buildings the reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall is one of the predominant structural components used to resist lateral loads induced by earthquakes around the world. Previous research demonstrated that shear walls displayed a sudden loss in lateral capacity due to the wall corner and web crushing in the plastic zone. In addition, it was found that large shear distortions in shear wall...
